My teeth aren't terrible, but I've noticed over the years that they have turned a few shades too yellow for my taste. I did manage to quit smoking awhile back, but I still drink coffee every day.

Went to my dentist yesterday and they said they have laser whitening methods now :wtf

They told me since I'm military, they'd give me a discount (almost 50% off). Normally it's like $400 but they said they will do it for $250. Anyone have experience with this? Is it worth it?

I'd do it. I figure if you notice it, others have noticed it also.

I've tried some of the OTC stuff but never really stuck with it long enough to see if it did anything or not.

Careful not to overdo it, though.

My wife uses the best (most expensive) crest white strips they sell at the store... Costco has them as well I believe.

Other than that I was given a sample of a gel/tray kit from my dentist... it was ok, but seemed expensive

How long has she been using them, and are they working as advertised?

I'd be wary.......whitening is one of the biggest profit sources for dentists

$250 isn't bad, though..........unless it's just a take-home kit. :thumbdown

I recommend an initial vapor blasting to deep clean those coffee stains and then a thin coat of UV resistant varnish.

Trust me, my dad's a Dentist.

they work great for her. She has nice white teeth. She does them throughout the year.

I worry about what it does to her gums, seems like it can be bad for you

I noticed significant improvement when I was using the Crest 3D White Luxe Whitestrips Set.

The problem I face is remembering to use them and not puking

Let me rephrase my question: How long does it take to notice improvement?

Get chemo and radiation therapy . 6 months later, when they fall out, you can keep your prosthetics in a glass.

It's an actual laser/UV treatment. Did some further research on it and apparently it only lasts about 1-2 years (which still is not bad for $250).

My dental insurance won't cover it since it's considered cosmetic.

I can vouch for the costco crest strips. I'd imagine the laser treatment at a dentist is much better but I have no idea

What does your dad think of 3 cylinder engines?

Teeth whitening is a weird vanity thing. I don't get it.

I don't either. It's like gray hair, etc. You get older, deal with it, it's inevitable, don't be so vein... life marches on, wear and tear.

The only thing that bothers me most is the ear, eyebrow, and nose hair... like WTF. :laughing
