Has anyone seen this before? It's been around for a while as a much more manual tool, but recently made the jump to a browser-based solution.

The map itself is located here: https://roadcurvature.com/map/

Here's the explanation of what's being done:

"Curvature helps those who enjoy twisty roads (such as motorcycle or driving enthusiasts) find promising roads that may not be well known. It works by looking at the geometry of every road segment and adding up how much length of the road is sharp corners, broad sweeping curves, and straight areas. The most twisty segments can then be viewed on the web or downloaded as KML map files that can be viewed in Google Earth."

In my admittedly rather brief playing around with the tool, the biggest drawback so far is that you have to pan and zoom to find areas of interest. There doesn't seem to be a way to enter a city or road name to find something in a particular location.

I've been using Furkot ever since Google Maps nixed a lot of the routing sites.
I can export the route as a .gpx and then upload it to my Garmin Zumo.

I've been using paper maps. It's pretty much just as easy to find interesting roads, you can take it with you, and it never gets a low battery. :laughing

Seriously, paper maps are the way to go.

I use a GPS and paper maps. Best of both worlds.
The nice British lady tells me where to go and I can still wipe my ass.

I've used the Butler maps to find some roads. What I thought was interesting about this is the rating algorithm which identifies the curviest roads. That seems kind of fun.
