Road Advisory!

Hey everybody -

I didn't qiute know where to put this so I figured I would place it here. Mods, feel free to move it to another place if you want.

Just a heads-up; I just got off the Skyline run a little while ago; you know, the one where you cruise through Saratoga and take the nice twisty run up the hill on up to 35, pass Alice's ( or stop and have a beverage, which ever you prefer!) and then on through to 92 and down the hill.

The Saratoga side is clean with just a little debris and some fallen rock that spills over to the surface; not bad at all.

The run run after Alice's though on 35 is a bit tricky still. There is virtually no pine straw, which is great! But there is some tree debris and some light rock slide activity going on and some free flowing water that cascades across the road surface. One of them comes on a blind right hander about 2 miles out from Alices on yer way to 92. Some of this stuff will hit you quick and force line corrections.

That's all. I just wanted to put that out in case anyone heads up that way.

There wasn't any perceived traction loss when I went over those streams two nights ago. But if you tense up and hit the gas or brakes, I'm sure it won't be pretty. :dunno

OK these tempting condition enhancements are nice, but I'm still not making the trip to enjoy them. :laughing

Even in the summer, one should expect and be on the guard for such things when riding up in the Santa Cruz Mountains. And believe me, it can get MUCH worse. LIke newborn baby shit slick mud covering entire turns.

I rode in that area yesterday. Posts of debris leadin up to Alice from 92. There were even road workers out, clearing and cuttin of branches. From Alice > La Honda > hwy 1: first part was still damp-ish but very rideable. Very winter weather still. Ride safe.
