RIP Terry Goodkind - author of The Sword Of Truth series

Missed this last week and just saw it. Great books if you haven't read them yet and are interested in the fantasy genre.

He was also a big amateur racing fan, including driving F2 cars and had his own racing team Rahl Racing.

Terry Goodkind said:
"My privilege in life is the joy of writing books and telling stories about people who fascinate me, the good and the bad. I am grateful to all of my readers for the critical role they play in making these books possible. Your passion is my passion, and I thank you."

Aw bummer. I got way into Sword of Truth waiting for Wheel of Time books to come out. I lost interest when he went full Ayn Rand and it became more of John Galt’s speech on objectivism than high fantasy. I still appreciate someone willing to take on such a big creative project. Hopefully he inspired some others to carry the tradition forward.

I got started with Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series but finally dropped it because it took him 100 pages to accomplish what most other authors would use 4-5 pages to convey. He ended up dying before he completed the last 4 books, all of which were close to a thousand pages long. Interesting series and I liked the characters but I had wasted enough of my life reading through all of the pages. :laughing
