I wasn't a huge Grumpy Cat fan, but I personally hold the belief that (after porn) the internet was created so that people like myself could get their daily laugh from some goofy cat picture. I, like, seriously, l really get a kick out of stupid cat pix. It's my one(?) internet weakness. That and self-diagnosing medical problems from internet stuff rather than going to the doctor.

I like the baby goats videos better, but yeah the Internet was born for cat videos-n-memes.
I read aloud the fortune that cat made for owners and others at work this morning and we're all: WTF, why are we even workin'? Gotta go out and find a fish with a smile or something.

somebody fucked up. similar to the loss of secretariat - how the fuck does a very mundane and minor issue take down an animal that you would think had the best life and observation of their caretaker and the best veterinary care possible? bottom line - they were exploited by idiots.

Not really. UTI for cats is often fatal. Combine with the fact that the cat had pretty severe genetic problems, I am not surprised.
