RIP Charles Krauthammer

He was a shill, spewing shilly sentiments of a newsy sort on a shill of a network.

That's grossly unfair and inaccurate to boot. Appearing on Fox doesn't make you a bad person. And ignores the majority of his work.

Likewise, holding views you don't agree with doesn't make one a bad person.

He was a conservative commentator, but I couldn't really find anything to criticize about his stances.

I'd say he was once of the less divisive conservative commentators and seemed consistent with his stances which seemed to be well thought out.

Not sure why CocoLoco would shit in his RIP thread.

You seriously marginalized yourself with that remark.

I am in awe of the way that he handled the life-changing event which put him in a wheelchair for life. You can say what you want, I guess, but he was a courageous man.

I'm not judging his courage. I am judging the ideas he professed, particularly the ones I saw on Fox in 2016. He shilled for Fox. He had his own reasons for doing it. I'd imagine he was paid handsomely for it. May he rest in peace now that his work is done.

Dude was an independent thinker, unlike most. On the whole he could be called conservative, but he displayed many nuanced opinions that reflected a deep wisdom. He had several opinions I agreed with, like that energy taxes should be increased the more people use, and that there should be a 2-state solution for Israel.

Oh BTW, he refused to vote for Trump, saying that collusion was a definite possibility.

So if he shilled for Fox, you seem to be implying that he took a position that he didn't truly believe to support and/or promote Fox? I find that hard to fathom. Perhaps you could explain further.

This is my last post in this thread. I am not going to trample on the man. I said what needed to be said and that is all. I do not hold what he did against him. It would do no good at this point anyway. He is not some pure, saintly person deserving of a high pedestal. Very few of us are.

A car in space...hmmmm.
As many times as this man has gotten me "spun up" I never realized he was paralyzed. RIP

He was an objective pragmatic commentator. Started left and drifted to the right because of how he saw things. He was critical of both the left and the right with an honest perspective that is mostly missing in the media in general today. He had well reasoned and substantiated positions that very much added to the understanding of the political landscape that I think everyone could benefit from (IMO).

He will be sorely missed and I am saddened by his passing. I just ordered his book "Things That Matter" and cannot wait for it to arrive.

If you watched him speak, he had to take a breath every few words, almost a gulp. Must have been hard for him to speak on TV
