So sorry to bring this news to you all but Bobby Black a.k.a BobBlack here on BARF, was killed in BAJA today pre-running for the 500. Many of you may or may not have known him but he was a pillar out at Stockton with his wild style and was always friendly to others. Bobby was one of the original SMUSA racers and was always willing to lend a hand or give riding tips to anyone that asked.

Bobby will be missed dearly.

Whatever that means
He still stands as an amazing rider.
Super nice guy. Extremely talented.

Just a month ago I was snapping photos of him at stockton.

This is really sad for me. I was looking forward to seeing him at the track again to ride with and learn from.

Tear heaven a new one Bobby.

BAD news . . .

I've lurked on this site for some time and I have had no real reason to post anything until now.

When I started riding Sumo early this year Bob was one of the first guys I met. He is one of the best riders I've ever been on the track with. Flat out amazing rider. In the paddock he was always one of the nicest and most helpful guys around. He was always encouraging others, giving advice and I learned a lot from him.

Everybody says nice stuff about people when they pass away but this guy was a great one.

Man, I didn't even know he was going down to Baja. It's been a few months since we last talked. This is just a huge loss, an amazing rider and a great person. Rest in peace Bobby, you will be missed but not forgotten. :rose

OMG my stomach turned when I read this. I knew Bobby he was an awesome person. I met him @ Stockton SM trackdays. He helped me get around the track, I wanted to ride like Bobby. He was always willing to help others out , we had a running joke ...when he tig welded my footpeg sliders and caught my bike on fire. Stockton Trackdays just not gonna be the same without Bobby showing up about 2pm and passing me on one wheel out of a corner.

Wow just wow...........:(:rip

I remember we were in the same race when he blew his motor at an AFM event. Even with the unfortunate circumstance, he was all smiles.

Very nice guy. R.I.P.

I exchanged so many texts and phone calls with Bobby, he was a huge influence and advisor when I decided to kit my 450 for SM....Bobby will be missed!
