Riding with family

Just thought I would share my three generation family ride this weekend. First let me say that after my accident (paralyzed for those that don't know) I never thought this would be possible. Fast forward 12 yrs and I am on a two day ride with my 26 yr old son, my 77 yr old dad, my uncle and a family friend of 30 plus yrs. Me on my fj09,son on zr7 and three Harleys. We left manteca Sunday morning working are way up hwy 26, this is a great rd by the way. Hit 88 and rode into Reno, where we stayed at the Atlantis. Had dinner, lounged around the pool and talked about the old days. Good times. We left reno early and headed north on 395 to to eagle lake to visit my dad's sister for a couple hrs. The ride around eagle lake is beautiful, we saw three large herds of antelope at the edge of the lake. I hope to ride this area again some day. After lunch at my aunt's we headed to lake almanor where we turned left and worked are way down the feather river canyon. My dad broke off in paradise, then my uncle just before Marysville, then the rest of us just jumped on the freeway and headed home. After losing my mom two weeks ago, it makes want to spend more time with my dad before it's to late. I think we made some great memories for my son. Thanks for reading.

That is so awesome. My wife and I along with my son rode to Crater Lake and Grants Pass. He still talks about that ride and wants to do another one.

Excellent stuff! :thumbup Thanks for posting up!

You are so fortunate to be able to ride with your family members. Good for you for realizing it, and taking advantage of it :)
I'm sorry you lost your mom. I know how awful it is to lose our parents. It's a hard thing, for sure. I'm sure your dad is appreciating your company.

It's great to read about families getting to ride together. I hope to do something like this one day with my kids and their kids. :thumbup
