Ok everyone, just got word from the RidgeRunners MC that the New Years Day Ride is on.

Starts at JJ's Saloon,

4714 Soquel Dr, Soquel, CA 95073.

Sign ups open at 9:00am
Donation is $60.00.
This year the property that was new last year has a little more to it and there is a new property after lunch.
I do not know how much of the new stuff is single track (if any) vs dirt two track.

Not really a big bike friendly event....

How many miles of riding trails is it? I might be interested in riding my Light Bee since it's plated :) Is there a place to stage van+trailer?

Riding All The Time
Looks like i'm finally going to get to do this incredibly awesome ride after missing the last few!

Any body looking for a ride partner? happy to help others get through the tough stuff (as long as you help me too haha :teeth )

I plan to do all the hard splits

Well that was totally awesome.
Big thanks to all the ridge runners and property owners that helped to make this happen. :thumbup

Hopefully I got some entertaining POV footage.

Riding All The Time
Here's the 1st part of my vid

from the youtube description:

Wow, what a day!
The Santa Cruz, California Ridge Runners club put on a great event.
My 2001 KLR650 is my only plated ride worthy of any dirt, so I rode it.
This is part 1 of 3.
I rode all the hardest splits (why not?)
Unfortunately, when we got to the first dirt section, it looked like a backlog of over an hour, so we skipped ahead to try and get ahead of the crowd (since I was still recovering from a nasty cold, I figured it might be wise to save some energy anyway).
About 102 miles total for the day (includes riding to and from the event)
(I start off a little slow as I am pretty worried I will end up underneath my pig of a bike, but I eventually warm up)

linky not work so well, 2nd try:

(sorry it's so long [15 mins], I will try to find time to hack it all down to under 10 minutes when I get some time)

Edit “I think perhaps...” It is better to not post video as the ride is very much a privilege to the folks who responsibly participate. The event really does not need more exposure.

Thank you for your opinion.
Korey said nothing about sharing (or not) of video at the riders meeting.
I'm pretty sure this is my 4th time riding the event. Some might even say responsibly. You won't want to view any of my other video from previous years, i'm sure.
