Dec 19, 2014 1:30 AM by Vanessa Vasconcelos
The California Highway Patrol has reopened Lincoln Blvd from Messina to Kusel this morning after a fatal pursuit.
The crash happened at Firloop Circle. They have the strech of Lincoln shut down as they are treating it as a crime scene.
Just before 6 tonight, the CHP officer involved was on patrol when he noticed a motorcycle pulling out of a parking lot that had plates that weren't visible. Once he put his lights on, the motorcycle took off southbound on Lincoln, running the stop light at Ohir. He then lost control when he turned a corner, hitting a telephone pole at Firloop circle.
The first officer on scene attempted CPR. Once paramedics arrived they pronounced the motorcyclist dead. Sgt Sanders tells Action News Now the motorcyclist was wearing a helmet. The CHP is not identifying the driver as they are still trying notify next of kin.
