Replacement for Bandit 1200S? Bking, ZRX, ZX14, Haybusa?

I am debating on which bike to get as a Bandit 1200 replacement. I found myself wanting better suspension at times, but I am 6'1" and have a very long torso and most supersports are too small/unpleasant to ride.

Any suggestions?

I want:
80+ ft lbs of torque at or below 5500rpm
decent riding position
150+ top speed
adjustable suspension
easy-ish maintenance
under 550lbs if possible
Semi comcortable pillion seat
decent aftermarket support

Maybe a FZ1, but how is the low end torque? I am spoiled after years of open class motocrossers and the Bandit...

K1200S or the 1300 is you have the $$

SuperDuke ?

Maintenance may be an issue though.

Superduke and the k1200 look like a blast, but I think about $5,000-6,000 would be my limit.

Kawi ZRX? Well within budget like your bandit and money left over for some mods and tinkering..

Or a newer water cooled and injected bandit with ABS. They are a lot of bike for the money.

I freaking LOVE my ZX14. I have an 06 and the newer ones are better yet. I put bar risers on and a Connie seat and the wife and I 2- up everywhere comfortably. And we also can hang with most of the fast guys in the twisties. The bike is big but it can boogie. About the only negative thing I can think about it is it does eat rear tires, especially if you are frisky with the right hand.

Oh, by the way, I am 6'3" and I find the ZX comfy even for trips like we did 2 years ago to Crater Lake, all on backroads. And there is a real good forum for modding and info for them as well.

For my money is get a Busa. The ZX14 is probably a slightly better bike, but its also te only bike ever made that is uglier than a Busa.

+2:thumbup More than enough torque and long/stable/comfortable body. I am 5'8" with slightly shorter arms than others. So the riding position is bit tight but if you are 6'1", ZX14 will be comfortable.

Then you need glasses. There is NO bike uglier than an Eyeabusa. Oh wait, the Honda Maggot. I stand corrected. :twofinger

Probably a moot point, since this guy has poor enough taste to consider both the Busa and the ZX. He probably faps to people of Walmart glamour shots.

Seriously though, I did strongly consider a Busa at one point, but it was too long to be very comfortable for me. I'm only 5'7. I suspect both the ZX and Busa would suit someone that is 6'+ quite well.

And I'm 6'1 and even have race rear sets on the current first gen and it fits great. Can drag a knee all day long or come Friday you can drop it to the ground and cruz. I personally think the second gen looks more like the disgusting pig called a ZX14 so I'm a first gen busa guy. All in all, you want a bike that everyone knows and likes, get a busa. You want something out of left field that looks like a 90's spiked hair commercial, then get a ZX. ...and to top it off my first busa ran 9.92 @140 in stock trim on Avon touring rubber!

The Bandit and the ZRX are in a class by themselves. I sold my ZRX and bought a Multistrada, then a Busa, trying to find a ZRX replacement. In the end I bought another ZRX and now I have 3 of them. They are big bikes and a bit dated but with a good pair of shocks they are great riding bikes.
