so ive got one of those led light bars with remote for my car (stupid car lol) so i got this crazy idea that it can be used to remote start my bike since it works with 12v.
so i was thinking, when i press a button on the remote the lightbar turns on, so im thinking of retrofitting the remote receiver to activate the bike. i think its very possible to do it.

better hope you rig up a clutch engagement sensor

imagine someone clicking your bike in gear, and you remoted started it

Why bother? There are many other projects you could spend money and time on that would yield far bigger dividends.

I would put remote start at the same level as buying a Clapper for your electric toothbrush.

Turn this into a thread on “what electronic project should I install on my bike?”

This is a potentially dangerous proposition. As another mentioned, what happens if the bike gets in gear while it's running? Are you planning to run it from afar to allow it to warm up as opposed to physically starting it by yourself? If you bypass the clutch sensor with a relay, it'll sure start up by remote.

If it’s being done to warm up the engine, don’t. It’s far more efficient to start and ride away immediately.
