Recommend me some sumo wheels

Was gonna, or still may, place an order for some warp9 wheels but my online snooping is returning mixed reviews. Anyone have any experience with those wheels? Be used primarily for street riding. If they're junk what do you guys recommend?

On a similar note, cush huh or not needed? TX300i if it matters

I know plenty of guys who have ran Warp 9 without any issues. Buy the best you can afford, but I would not check them off your list.

I have run Warp 9 and custom Excells. I never had an issue with either. The custom wheels tend to be stronger and flex less, but on a 300 I don’t think you will notice.

As for the cush drive.... that’s like a conversation about what oil is best.

Check out this thread. It’s been hashed out a thousand times, but this has a summary. If that helps. Personally, I like a cush on my bigger bikes. Saves chains and the shifts are smoother.

FYI, Warp 9 uses the same rims as everybody in the business except for Excel (they make their own).
As for the hubs, they are not as light as some others (Talon for instance) but they are high quality aluminum forged then machined (i.e. very strong).
Their only quality issue I've encountered in recent years has been on the spokes/nipples where they didn't deburr very well but that's an easy fix as a customer.

Too late but I use Sun Rims and they'be been good to me but I ride a 140. I run a Sun Rim on the front of my DR and it has taken a beating offroad. It bends pretty easily but it won't crack so easily.

Also thanks. That's a great deal, i considered waiting for black Friday but just didn't want to wait. At 20% off maybe i should have :thumbup

still gotta figure something with the front sprocket as the one i purchased is too big to fit the chain guard back over top of, but i figure i'll ride it a little before i do any more fooling around. For the most part a finished product :)
