RAD manufacturing going out of business

Hi all, just to let you know RAD manufacturing is going out of business. Called up and got a discount on some XRR hubs to build a set of 17's. So now I guess the options are stock, talon, and (if your lucky to have a motoX bike) faster USA.

Here's a link from another board.

It seems like RAD was bought by another company and they were not able to keep the knowledgeable people. Hope someone buys the factory and starts it up again. If I won the powerball I'd have bought it.

typical corporate America, sale a good profitable company to some dipshits (corporate thinks they know everything) and everything goes down the toilet, pretty sad day

Exactly what happened to me w/my last 10-year job. Company was rising like gangbusters, going from 5 employees to 120+ in ten years. Then they sold & in came new management. My new boss fired the entire Field Service department (me SM & 20+ techs/network engineers) to make a splash & brought in all new folks. :mad

Bingo within a year they had lost all their big accounts, most of the good, long-term employees (like me), & went out of business. DUH! Shame, I felt we built a powerhouse, & a year later they died w/a whimper.

Customers know when new representatives come in they likely w/the wrong company. The big ones go away immediately....when will these executive management types learn? :thumbdown

And my company.

I was a field service rep, talked with the end user/customers every day and listened to their wants and desires from us, the vendor. When I related, verbatim, to the management hierarchy I was overriden by the sales dorks who only talked to other sales dorks.

Good solid suggestions for improvement and longevity were cast aside and the company shrank year after year until failure.

Now everyone was let go, including the sales dorks.

(sigh) And so it goes.

We should somehow get a hold of original owner see if he want's to re-start the company with new people, they had bitchin product line but I guess greed kicked in and then everything went downhill
