Here's one of the videos I shot from Race2. I only raced in the Super50 class so it's only of the folks who raced in that class. Luckily or unluckily depending on how you look at it, everyone passed me in the main so everyone that raced in Super50 that day was in the video.

I shot it with this camera. I got it on sale at Target for $88.00.

Here's the video.

That's a cool cam for the money.

For those who gets one I saw the 2gig SD card forsale at Fry's for $50. That should be good for a few more onboard vid.

Damn that's awesome Joe!!!
Your bike sounds sooooooooo good!!!

Nice racing. Looks to me you were picking up your pace towards the end. It was fun watching Marc and ??? battle it out in front of you.

Sweet Joe and thanks! :)

Eddie,

I am a little confused in regards to the memory card (EPSD). I see on some sites that post the sale of this camera w/ additonal memory, they only offer the cards in 256, 512 & 1gb. Can a 2gb that you mention work for this camera as well?

See selection of Memory offered to the right of the page

That camera is just like mine. It uses a regular SD card. according to the manual a 256MB card can hold 20 minutes of video in VGA mode (higher quality). A 512MB card will hold 40 minutes and a 1GB card will hold 80 minutes.

The heat race was about 8 minutes long. I ran out of memory at 4min 32 sec during the main so I didn't post it. The main probably took me about 10 minutes to run when you count the warm up lap and the ride into the pits before I could shut off the camera. So if you run more than 1 class you'll need at least and you want to video your 2 practice sessions as well then you will need at least a 1GB card. The manual was printed before 2 GB cards were available but I can't see why you couldn't put one in. Then you are looking at about 160 minutes of video at high quality.

My appolgies. I could be wrong that the camera might be able to use a 2gig card.

I have a Sony M1 (cost me $600 new) which compresses in MP4. The video can be played back on a PSP (that little handheld video game from Sony). I believe my bro said this camera records in the same MP4 format. I doubt I'm gonna strap my Sony digi cam to my bike, but this one my bro has looks really good on paper for $88. The only downside I have to again purchase a different type of memory card dagggnammit.

BTW I posted your vid link in the DerbiClub forum.

Reyefumi where did you mount the cam at ?

There's a lot of room behind the fairing on the Derbi. Pictures are worth a thousand words. Might be trickier on a YSR. When I raced my YSR I often wondered how I would mount a cam.

When I raced at Prarie City, a fellow racer had a mount that shared the holes as the YSR gas cap and mounted his vid camera there. He used a "clear" windscreen and the angle/view took great video.

Looks like the bracket the Tach came with mounts directly on the GPR's fairing brace.

Yesterday I took off my SM speedo/tach and was able to remount without losing the keyswitch. I also added an on/off toggle to save the 9 volt battery for the guage. It does not require the bikes battery to power so it should work with your race bike.
