R6 Keyless Ignition Conversion: Connector Type?

Shaggy

Zoinks!!!!
I want to convert my race bike to keyless ignition and I’m gonna make a toggle to replace the key/tumbler. I don’t want to cut any wires from the existing ignition. I just need to know if anyone can help identify the connector types needed to plug into the harness.

Planning to get connectors from http://www.cycleterminal.com/

PM if you don’t want to post publicly.

The connectors look like this:

Take some better individual pics of the connectors and email joe@cycleterminal.com, I've bought from him before, he's got stuff not listed on the site too. He's a one man shop and very helpful. He'll probably know right off what they are.

You can buy woodcraft one, it is plug and go.

This is probably your easiest solution.

Joe is awesome at Cycle Terminal. He is also willing to make harnesses and pigtails for things if you don't have the crimp tool for a particular connector. His rates for work are super reasonable too.

My understanding is the Woodcraft part turns the kill switch into an all-in-one switch. I like the idea of having the two switches work independently.

Does Woodcraft make a toggle also?

Why not put a toggle switch in-line with the woodcraft unit then? Would be super easy, and no cutting or splicing into stock wiring...

I’m pretty sure I can make a toggle with the proper connectors for about $15 instead of paying $60 for the Woodcraft part.

Joe from cycleterminal.com replied to my email and I ordered the proper connectors.

Yes, kill switch becomes all in one.
I am not sure about your bike but there is usually resistor inside ignition lock so you will have to put that in to home made harness as well.

The Yamahas do not have a resistor from my research. The Suzukis do though.
