hey all, asking a quick question for a friend. yes, my friend knows god kills a kitten every time he masturbates; it's not that kind of question. 
he's got a 95 or 96 (not sure which) R1100GS that has issues when downshifting at speed. it apparently grabs too hard or something similar. the rider's description is that 'the clutch jerks.'
he's had the clutch replaced, but that didn't help at all. while i've never ridden with him (he's the husband of an old housemate), he's a very experienced forest fire fighter, meaning he's pretty familiar with mechanical toys, and he has owned this bike for at least five years, so i doubt it's rider error. one thing worth mentioning, however, is that he had back surgery last year, so this bike hasn't had that many miles put on it of late.
thoughts? anybody with similar experience? any insight would be appreciated. thanks!
