I love Da Whores
This is almost embarrassing to report.
On 9-11, was out riding & had a mishap.
Another rider & I went to Port Costa from Martinez. Leaving Port Costa he wanted to ride my DL650, so I rode his DL1000. I got confused on the directions & pulled off to a side. The buddy passed me. I came to a stop (first mistake) and misjudged the slope of the shoulder. My foot did not touch the ground & I fell over. The bike suffered some scratches.
Without thinking, I attempted to pick the bike up by myself. Butt to bike, left hand on bars, right hand on frame. Heard and felt a POP in my back. Dropped the bike & fell down in agony.
Buddy came back to find me & the bike on the ground. He was able to right the bike. I lay on the ground for 20 minutes, controlled breathing to control the pain. Finally got up Buddy helped me get my leg over the seat & I rode my bike home.
After an hour, my housemate took me to the ER. I got drugs & was told to see an Orthopedic.
9-13 the Ortho took an XRAY,, issued more drugs fitted me with a brace & ordered an MRI. Got the MRI results yesterday which revealed a compression fracture of the L-4 vertebrae. No work till Jan 5. No lifting,, no bending wear the brace when out of bed. No surgery.
Doc also said there was no signs of cancer or tumors. Also looked at my previously compressed L-3 from a 190 parachute crash & 2007 atrophied left kidney.
Took pain pills & muscle relaxers for a week, initially. Hit the floor with my face one night when I got up. Hurt my pretty face. :laughing
Have taken no more pills for 10 days now. Eat an occasional cannabis cookie for discomfort.
Collecting SDI, watching a lot of Netflix, reading and watching ugly weeds invade my front garden.
I get up & about 5-6 hours a day and walk a little, drive a little visit friends & surf Internet Dating sites. arty I can go grocery shopping & still cook with my crockpot.
Trying to stave off the boredom, another test of my patience.
