Q4’s over Supercorsas for track

Thinking about switching from SuperCorsas to Q4’s. I'm riding a 1299s, mostly track days, some canyon carving. Been on SuperCorsa SP3's, which have been great but at 2-3 rear tires per season, its breaking the bank. I've heard the Q4's will warm up a bit faster and have a little less rigid carcass, but not sure I would notice any difference.

Anyone have track experience using the Q4 Sportmax? Any complaints or observations?

Q4's are great but in the end, you're on a 1299. That thing is going to tear up any tire. I heard DUCATI does well on the Pirelli TD Tire. Try that out, it's the Pirelli equivalent to a Q4.

Whatever that means
What is your track pace? is the switch for cost effectiveness?
RS10's are dirt cheap and work pretty darn good imo for b group, overkill for c group. would probably be fine for a slowish a pace

Just did this switch recently but on a 600 and yes they warm up quick feel great but I will only get 2 trackdays out of them in a b group setting so on a liter bike maybe a day .....?

Maybe not. A lot depends on your suspension setup and your riding style. If you're burning through tires after a couple of days and you're not riding at race-winning pace, it might be worth having a conversation with Dave Moss about bike setup. After he helped debug my setup issues, track day tires literally lasted twice as long for me...

Q4 in the front and Q3+ in the rear could be a good balance for grip and tire longevity.

I'm loving the set of Pirelli TD's I put on recently but it's looking like the rear might be toast after 3 track days.

Let's face it. If you're riding a high horsepower superbike, it doesn't matter what tire you buy. You'll wear them out quickly if you're pushing. That's why we love litterbikes. The Q3 is a great trackday tire, btw.

Run in upper half of B group - change is for cost effectiveness. I can get 2 -3 track days out of a rear - not looking to get more miles out of a track tire. The Supercorsas use a silica/rubber mix on the center and a rubber/carbon on the sides. The Q4 is 100% rubber/carbon so I'm guessing the simplicity makes it more cost effective to produce.

I know the SC's can be flipped if the tire wear is uneven due to direction of the track - assuming Q4's are no different.

I got TD’s this year and found they last maybe one day longer than superbike slicks. At least they’re a bit cheaper.

Second vote on the RS10...I actually have a set of them
waiting to on my 1199R. But I’m still working on the Pirelli SPs it’s wearing.
