Purchasing/Registering Ducati's from Out of State

Does anyone know if there are any registration issues when purchasing a Ducati out of state and registering it in California. I know some bikes have reg issues but it seems like there was something about Ducati's and being 50 state bikes. Thank you ahead of time!

this has been played to death many times. Use the search function. To answer your question, if its a 50 state bike, theres no issue. Look on the frame tag. Non california older used bike never registered in CA must have at least 7500 miles

All Ducatis sold in at least the last 20 years are 50-state bikes. You'll have to find the silver sticker indicating so to get it registered here. The older Monsters had it under the seat on a plastic piece under there.

There is no mileage limit.

The one exception was the 2000 M600 Monster, which wouldn't be worth bringing in anyway because it was the worst bike Ducati made in the last 20 years.

You will also need to take it to chp for a vin verification before going to DMV for registration and request for ca title

Just go to the DMV, it will be good to know where your VIN, ENG ID, EPA and Emission stickers are located. I registered my DUC at Walnut Creek. It was from Seattle. Bring tools because you might be taking apart the bike to access where the decals are located. Mine were located under the fuel tank.
