pulled up on a downed HD

So I'm commuting home from SF to the East bay, I'm on 80 east near aquatic park and traffic grinds to a halt. Number 1 lane starts moving right so I know something has happened. Rolling through and I see a harley on the ground pointing the wrong direction against the K rail, so I pull over to see if I can help.
The HD still had it's lights on but the motor was off, there was a pudding bowl helmet between the bike and the K rail and a saddle bag still on the bike. I look over the K rail and see the other saddle bag and some gear. I'm like holy fook wheres the rider? I ask some middle aged Caucasian female and she points me to a mid twenty to thirty Caucasian male who is sitting on the other side other side of the k rail. I ask him if he's alright, he responds yeah just messed up my ankle. I ask so you were heading west bound? he says no east.
I'm am in full WTF mode, his ride looks like the hulk had taking it bowling and he has gear on both sides of the freeway. he said he got hit then went over the K rail and got hit by another car. His heating gear shorting out on his skin woke him up.
The female that first pointed him out has the rider turns out to be the driver of the bmw suv that collided with him. I heard her say to the CHP that that is the motorcyclist that hit me. when I asked the rider you were going this way and pointed west he said no I was in this lane pointing to the eastward HOV lane. the female bmw driver had her vehicle parked in the HOV lane. damage to the left rear bumper, she was the sole occupant of the vehicle.

hope the rider doesn't get the blame for this one

He might have been punted into the rear of the BMW by a hit and run driver.

Guy is lucky to be alive!

:wtf leaves one wondering what really happened for him to end up on the other side of the freeway?
Camera would of been able to shed some light on this.
For those who dont have one yet its Christmas time to ask Santa for one

A few years ago, I was following a HD bagger through Petaluma. All of a sudden the dude accelerated and took off at a pretty good clip. He got about a 1/4 mile ahead of me when he got punted into the center divide by a lane jumper. His bike ended up against the guard rail and he was on the far side of the guard rail. I stopped and kept a passerby from removing his helmet and made him stay put until EMS showed up. He had me call his girlfriend and tell her what happened. He called me a couple of weeks later to thank me for helping him.

A few years ago I let a brand new Harley Road Queen split past me on 880S, and just ahead a car changed lanes into his path and both bike and rider went airborne.

I stopped, and picked up riders wallet and drivers license separately off the road, and handed them to him. I asked him if he could stand. He did. Then I helped him pick his bike up.

At the time it was a discontinued model (Switchback) but brand new, no plate. Both sides were damaged, and one side was covered in oil. It looked destroyed, and they weren't making any more. Shame.

Rider seemed OK if shaken up. Cars were stopped, so I didn't stick around.

If you see someone hurt, how do you not stop and render aid. Even if it's holding someones hand or calling their loved ones, there is always something that can be done.

Keep them immobilized, warm, call EMTs. The most important thing is keep them stationary. Don't attempt to remove helmet, or gear.

You also may need to give orders to others. Many suffer from bystander effect because they don't know what to do, but if you give them directions on what to do, psychologically they will almost always follow the orders. Instruct one person to call 911, instruct another to help keep space, etc. Just take charge of the situation, essentially.
