Honda: All Spanish, all the time....

I'm pretty sure that when Rossi leaves MotoGP I'm going to lose a serious amount of interest in the series, unless there's an American doing reasonably well.

Yep. I wouldn't be surprised if Johan Mir is next to MM into the repsol garage by 2019, since puig has had a hard on for Mir since forever

This will make Marquez's departure to KTM in 2019 all the more sweeter.

I think MM is likely to sign another 2 year contract with HRC. I don't see him riding a KTM, their bike isn't anywhere near competitive enough yet.

And I don't think MM would move just because of money or ego.

Editor’s note: After the infamous incident where Dani Pedrosa knocked down the late Nicky Hayden at Estoril in 2006 (Pedrosa and Hayden were teammates, Hayden was leading the world championship) Alberto Puig–Pedrosa’s manager–reacted to global criticism of Pedrosa knocking down his teammates and championship leader by attacking and criticizing Nicky Hayden for the incident, which he said was Hayden’s fault even though Hayden was clearly leading when the pair entered the corner.

At the time many suspected that Puig instructed Pedrosa that he take out Hayden, an allegation that Pedrosa denied.

Stoner wrote of the time he worked with Puig where he (Stoner) finished a few positions back from the win. Stoner wrote that Puig asked him why he didn’t win. Stoner replied that it was the best the bike/tires would do and also he could not safely pass the riders in front of him.

According to Stoner’s own book, Puig told Stoner that he was to knock anyone like that out of the way or down in order to win.

This concerns me, Marc might listen and hurt someone (or himself)

I'm beginning to wonder if this is a "The Chrysanthemum and the Sword" kind of thing.... :dunno

Honda depends on Repsol money, Puig has close ties to Repsol and looms over Honda racing operations whether he's there or not. Maybe Honda is politely putting Repsol back into line by giving their guy the chance to control the team and continue the success.

If he fails, they can be rid of him. If he succeeds, they win world championships.

Puig's always been known as the biggest AH in the paddock right?

I think MM would tell HON if they hire him he would walk....?

I met Puig at Laguna when Pedro did the interview with me.
He looked my up and down like a bad piece of meat.

He know doubt will go whatever it takes to make HRC successful.

Jesus, poor MM. I actually feel bad for him. This year should be as interesting as last year.

This sounds highly probable given the history. He’s shit himself repeatedly. Lorenzo??
