I'll be there. bringing the Toy Hauler and camping the night before, no need for a garage but you're welcome to pit with me if you'd like.

(on a side note, I'll also be on my 2016 R1!)

Just got an email from PTT about the 6/12 day.

Motoamerica teams will be there and they get their own group. So it will just be 2 groups for this day. Hopefully that doesn't turn out to be a CF for the rest of us but that will be cool to see :ride

I'm fucking furious about a last-minute format change past the refund window. I would never have signed up for a two-group day, especially not if it didn't get me 10 more mins per session. I have zero interest in subsidizing some professional race teams' track time.

This is pure bullshit.

That is incredibly lame. Are they going to consolidate A and B ground (or C) or do you think they will trim time from each group?

The email said 2 groups, 20 minute sessions. I have no idea how they plan to consolidate. And I certainly hope they are limiting the sign ups now, since 50-60 people in one session instead of 35 is going to be a recipe for disaster.

This is pure bullshit.

That's kinda what I thought but I didn't say it exactly like that

I bought a ticket, however my ride can't make the event, I may backout for this session unless somebody here has extra room in their trailer.

So I asked Michael about the groups, and this was his response:

"We will run a three group format though one group will be used all day by Factory Suzuki. So, we will be running the other two groups for the track day riders, Group 1 ( C and B-) and Group 2 (B+ and A), 20 minute sessions as usual on the hour. So the B group riders will need to decide if they want to run in the faster group or the slower group. The two groups will have a very limited amount of riders so track time will be great with out congestion. "

Seems reasonable. I just signed up for B group, guess I'll start with B- and see how it goes, prefer to be one of the faster guys in the group :)

So today was a complete bust, but only because my tank key is missing. Being unable to add fuel to a perfectly well-functioning motorcycle is the pits. :(

Serious props to Michael and PTT, though. I was convinced the day was going to be a crowded shitshow, but he delivered on 100% of his promises. The day went smoothly, attendance was capped appropriately, and it was a great day, despite the format change. A good friend of mine was there for his first track day, and the instruction he got was top-rate.

Frankly, today went well enough that I'll probably tend toward picking PTT in the future.

That sucks, but indeed.. it was a great day with beautiful weather. It was cool garaging next to the pros.

And not a single black flag all day, that I saw. That's how a trackday should be. :thumbup
