PSA - Product Recall: Chips Ahoy Chewy Cookie

I received an automated call today from my local Raley's, telling me about a product recall for Chips Ahoy Chewy Cookies, so am passing the info along as a PSA to you:

Reason for Market Withdrawal:
The potential for certain product to contain an unexpected solidified ingredient.

I'm trying not to let my imagination run with what that ingredient might be.

They added dingle berries instead of blueberries in a test batch. The Bay Area as well as Sacramento are sometimes used as test markets.

Just give them to the pot smokers, they'll eat anything.

Kills me that they won't be more specific. But Chips Ahoy are crap to begin with so who knows. Of all the commercial cookie brands, they are about the worst. Or put differently, they are the farthest off from actual homemade Toll House cookies. Really phony texture and impure flavor. Sometimes, factory cookies have something going for them. For example, I like homemade chewy oatmeal cookies. But I also like those crunchy Mother's oatmeal cookies because they are such good dippers (milk or coffee). Even tho' from a factory, I always thought they had a consistent, good flavor.

Saying something like, “chunks of dried semen,” is probably a good way to go out of business. I think I understand why they aren’t being specific.

They probably mean one of the normal ingredients/chemicals of the cookie solidified instead of dissolving into the mix like it was supposed to. Could just be that the mixer was at the wrong temperature or something like that. As opposed to the unexpected solidified ingredient being a foreign substance/object.
