PSA-Giant Chuckhole South of GGB-Update

On my way into work this morning I saw one of the biggest chuckholes I've ever seen (going southbound) just after the toll gate. In the right hand lane as you transition to Park Presidio on the turn before the McArthur tunnel, right in the center of the lane.

This one is viscous, any bike that would hit it would likely not stay vertical after impact.

I don't know who to call in SF to report it. Anyone know what number (or website) to contact?

***Update as of Tuesday morning 5-14, the pothole has been filled with fresh asphalt.***

(Actually, the pothole is on southbound Veterans Blvd just after leaving SB 101, center of right lane).

Probably good advice, depending on how severe that pothole is.

yeah, they (911) couldn't care less if they tried when I reported sand all over the great highway w/ motos falling left and right.

maybe somebody else's luck will be different.

I'd report it regardless..

I called 911 and she said they would jump right on it. Very nice lady she said she would dispatch a crew to investigate right away.

I told her it could be seen from Google Earth and that made an impression.

We'll see. I will pass northbound tomorrow evening, I'll see if they did anything between now and then.

It's not real-time, image dates vary. I didn't see what the date was on the image I show but the crater is easily visible.

On my way home yesterday afternoon, it was difficult to see that part of the roadway from my direction since it is elevated. I stood on my pegs and tried to get a glimpse without getting in an accident (reasonably heavy traffic that time of day, about 6:30 pm). I may have seen a patch of fresh asphalt at the pothole location but it was so fleeting, I cannot be sure.

It's been growing for a few weeks. The Hole that ate Cleveland.

The chipseal patch is already wearing. Keep to the #1 lane for that turn.
