Props to Fieldsheer

As I noted in the Roadcrafter thread, I recently picked up a Fieldsheer Highland suit on eBay for quite a bit less than the Aerostitch. All was well, until a few rides in when the right pocket zipper snapped off.

Well, for over $600 less, I figured it was the price of going with a cheaper option. I contacted Fieldsheer and they replied within a couple of hours - asking me to send to the retailer for warranty. Well crap, by the time I ship it it would cost more than to just fix it locally, so I did.

New zipper thinggy put on and all is well. So I contacted Fieldsheer and told them it was fixed. "Send us the receipt, a check will be on the way" they replied. :wow

I didn't expect that at ALL. That's the way to make a customer happy. :applause

Santa Clara Cycle carries a lot of Fieldsheer, and they've done warranty work on a loose thread I had that separated leather from the stretch material on my 2pc. I took it to a tailor and SCC reimbursed me. Fieldsheer and SCC FTW

SCC was awesome about a fieldsheer jacket. Zipper broke on the arm vents after about a week's worth of use. Brought it to them, ordered a new one, and swapped my old one, no questions asked.

I <3 you scc. Too bad you're so far away.

I have to agree that Fieldsheer customer service is top notch...even if their products aren't quite as solid. I bought a pair of their textile Booster pants and the leg zipper broke within a few months. Called up Fieldsheer and they said that they did have problems with those zippers and to send them in for replacement. No problem. Sent them in, got them back, low and behold the zipper breaks again. So again I call them up and they tell me to send them in for a new pair, and that they'd even refund me the shipping costs.

Long story short, even though the product wasn't as great as I'd hoped the customer service made up for that. I'd still buy a Fieldsheer product again because I think the zipper problem was more due to a crappy zipper manufacturer rather than the pants themselves. And this pair of pants has held up just fine.

Between my wife and I, we have quite a bit of Fieldsheer gear:
- Highland Suit
- Cobra 2-pc leathers
- Titanium air jackets
- Boost overpants

we've had good service from all of our Fieldsheer gear. Only one broken zipper out of the bunch and it was easily repaired.

I wish my Fox Racing gear (off road) held up as well...

I have some of thier luggage and leather pants as well as a textile jacket. Have had trouble with the zippers on the luggage but the stuff was seriously cheap ($25 tank bag $35 saddle bags) so I am not complaining. The leather pants seem much better made than the textile jacket. The jacket is ok but the pants seem really solid. Not sure why but maybe different supplier for the leather?

I have a 12yr old set of Fieldsheer leathers(one replaced zipper and upgraded armour) that have survived 2yrs of courier work and many supermoto track days+ 10 yrs of regular use... I also have a highland suit but it hasn't been raining enough for me to break it in yet...
