MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE
Since my last intro/review of the Alpinestar Ice jacket was bastardized by, um, bastids....:mad , I wanna take the oppritunity to introduce another of A*'s "Black Label" collection, the Spinner .....
Features include:
1.2-1.4mm full grain leather for excellent abrasion resistance.
CE certified elbow and shoulder protectors.
Relaxed fit.
Zip operated ventilation.
Removable quilted vest.
Strategically placed micro perforated leather.
Adjustable waist.
2 external pockets and 1 large internal pocket.
Both the Ice and Spinner is oriented for street riding so it's comfortable off the bike as well as riding....
Although both are from the same manufacturer, the have a different fit....
The Spinner is a bit more of a bigger fit meaning the arm length is a bit longer than the Ice and much more roomier for the more bulkier guys whether it be muscle heads body builder types or the type that enjoys more than 6 meals a day ....at one time.....
In other words, if fits a bit more bigger than the Ice jacket....
While it's comfortable, the leather is much stiffer than the Ice and for some, ya may need to break it in some to feel comfortable but it won't take too long for it too happen.....
Ventilation is just like the Ice, where it's perforated on the side but this time with less vents than the Ice and only on the shoulders and back.....
While it does do a good job of circulating cool air, its not as cool as the Alpinestar Ice jacket which might be a good thing for some cuz during the winter months, you might be warmer wearing the Spinner rather than the Ice on those chilly rides....
Both have a very effective thermal liner to keep you warm though and because both the Spinner and Ice jacket is relaxed fit, layering up with a sweater/sweatshirt/a bra for you guys that live in SF is easy to do to keep warm rather than say Alpinestar TZ-1 jacket which is more fitted...
Just like the Ice, the Spinner is a street oriented jacket so its more of a laid back fit and not designed to zip up to the Alpinestar Trackpants which ya can if ya have the extra zipper to have it sewn to the jacket so ya can have a ghetto fabulous 2pc.....
There are more reflective pipings all around the jacket in the front, back and along the sleeves which is noticeable but , if at a Ranch 99 parkinglot, don't depend on its visibility to save your ass.....
Before you boneheads rush out to get this jacket at your local m/c shop or ordering online, I do suggest you try both Ice and Spinner first for your build and height ....
For most, both are just fine but the Spinner might be better for the knuckle draggin longer armed folks or a bit meatier even though both come in S,M,L,XL, XXL sizing , theyre cut slightly different and ya might feel one better than the other....
and yes, for some of you bastids, both the Ice and Spinner are MEN's jacket...:x
but the ladies can wear em too....:cool
