Wish I had time to meet with you guys to help. I learned wheelies with -1 +2 myself. If you are smooth on throttle the wind ends up keeping the wheelie up...I never had to cover brake because never got close to looping it. I learned by bouncing it in second gear...hit throttle...push down as you release throttle and pull up as you nail the throttle. Then snapped it into 3rd gear becuase second would be reving too high at that point. To shift while in wheelie you just let off throttle and shift no clutch needed. That is how I learned to wheelie. Once in third wind and speed holds up the wheelie. Nowadays yes I would say cover rear break but when I learned no one was covering brakek or doing 12 oclocks yet...so it is possible to learn to wheelie and shift through all gears without covering rear brake. So obviously everyone has there own way of learning. Don't force anything...with practice if it does not feel natural then I would stop the attempt. Practice is key...and I do believe some people are just not meant to wheelie so do not force it. I was shifting through 5 gears through wheelies without covering rear brake for miles back in day. It never felt dangerous.

A buddy and I hit up the "alameda naval air station" today and was told by security patrol "you can't ride in the parking lots, only in the streets"... First 5 mins.
FYI: In the street you may get tag by Alameda police dept for Reckless driving.:thumbdown
Every rider is different, every bike is different, just my 2 cents.
Not sure if -1 front and +2 rear is a major gain. It's the best for a Stock chain.:2cents

+5 – Provides a good place to start for anybody looking to get a little more into the stunts without sacrificing street riding or too much top speed. Will gain some torque/acceleration while losing roughly 10% of top speed.
+10 - Provides good amounts of power for slower wheelies while still having decent street riding. Will gain good torque/acceleration while losing roughly 20% of top speed.
+15 – Provides great power for technical slow wheelies. Street riding will be reduced to moderation in the city limits. No highways. Will gain great torque/acceleration while losing roughly 30% of top speed.

You can learn on wheelies with your setup. I would roll at 15-20mph and pop the clutch with +4.5k rpm:2cents. And keep riding them pass that "holy fck" point. Keep your weight in the back is the key.

yeah we tried out there a few weeks back... security was all over the effin place... ended up going to the ship yards right off the 880... 2 mile stretch of road...
how big is this place??? i would be down if there is no cops/security and is a long straightaway....
