I ended up selling my Grom. I felt it was too perfect and had no soul....

Just read your build on the Grom forum. Good work, and thanks for sharing the details of your build, for the rest of us to learn from, and or get ideas.

I was checking out your mirrors. There is another Grom with similar mirrors, but noted they're from a CBR1000 (didn't list the year). The style look very similar to the mirrors I had on my Kymco S8 scooter. I really liked them and allowed me to see behind me, not just beside me.

As you know, the Grom mirrors are lacking (I can't see past my shoulders, but decent side views for lane changes)..... alike many factory mirrors. Any how, how well did you like them, and or would you recommend them?

Lastly, you mention the after-market shock, did you upgrade the forks as well? Or did the auto-tune take place after you installed the Ohlins label? :p

My bikes have pedals now
sorry to read about the drama. I hope that doesn't stop you from doing track days.

I no longer race. The last two seasons my NSR has only seen the track, on occasion.
Racing is to sex what tracks are to masterbation :laughing

I got big into triathlon and more recently cross country mountain bike. Gets my racing addiction satisfied :thumbup

track drama?

Race director in one place being an ass. Another place too informal, I had a novice hit me when I was passing on the outside (they mix the grid for 'fun') so he tried to start a fight in the pits. Too many people changing stock class rules to add more and more mods where the NSR needs to be a 63 with pipe, carb, and slicks to compete, etc. Just kills the fun.

Sorry for the short notice! A friend was coming out for my first Thursday east bay rides, and he had an emergency and had to bail last minute. He ended up being free tomorrow though and wanted to ride, so this came up.

Plan to come to Alameda or Emeryville on July 2nd. Enough notice? :p

The post is on total ruckus and honda grom, those are the two forums I really frequent, I would want to post it in the Group ride section, but I figure a high percentage of the forum are larger cc bikes, and wouldn't have great feedback. I'll post up for the July 2nd night meet in the minibike section soon.

any one want to ride up to this sunday? I think I will start up at about 10 am. I will pack some gas if needed.

I'm vintage .... does that count? :toothless

So tempting to join you and ride the Grom up the hill. But, I can't make a day of it .... meaning, my stay up there won't be for long. Maybe an hour tops, then head back down the hill. Otherwise, I may take another bike.

Sorry, I didn't make it. Turned out my wife didn't work today. I had a small window of time for a ride. I took a loop ride through Calaveras Rd. and back.

Hope you made it there and back okay. That's a long trek on a CT70.

here's one of my other projects that I really want to get road worthy.

'85 CR125 swap into a '81 Honda Passport

I've ridden it around a couple of times, and the theory works, that's all this bike was put together for. I can do as much as I can to this motor, but would at the end go for a '99 CR125 engine, the magnesium casings are almost toast on this one.
