Broke
My new to me 2004 Honda CR-V which is pretty cool and sort of rare. It's a EX AWD Manual that started off as a 5 speed and is now a 6 speed. Has a 2" Aerogenic's lift kit with an extra inch or so from the tires making it a 3" lift. I flew to LA last night after work and drove it back around 4 this morning.

Not bad for a 18 year car with 250K on the clock. If you guys want more details I can post a list of everything done to it in the last 2.5 years by the previous owner.

exploring!
It was posted on CL, popped up under RSX as I was looking for a RSX Type-S since it had a RSX Exedy clutch. Gotta love Honda's man, they are just like Lego's when it comes to mixing and matching parts.

Cool! Congratulations. I hunted for a suitable TDI wagon for a while (with 6speed manual) so I understand the joy. :)

Just got this. Now what to do with it.....

Nice.
If you need work, advice, parts, whatever, PM me.
I've been fixing and building landcruisers for a few years up in truckee.
Currently have 2 40s, 1 60, 1/2 of an 80 for myself and usually have 3 or 4 customer projects here.

Looks pretty clean. how's the rust? (Around rain gutter is always a problem on the 60)
Stock 2f? Do you have to smog it?

Have had to reschedule this twice now. Hopefully third time will be the charm and travel is sorta back to normal later this year.

No rust in rain gutters or tailgate .
Just some around the fenders and stuff down low.
Original engine.

I have an irrational desire to own one of these, not the all matchy one, just a scout.

I have beyond no reason to own one, but it's on my "lust" list.

I've owned a walnut Scout Squad for 12 years or so. One of the most fantastic firearms I've ever owned (and I have two safes full). Comes to the shoulder more naturally than other rifles (except maybe my Marlin 336 lever). Crazy accurate and totally reliable.

LOVE this rifle. I spent a few bucks and had the stock hand checkered and had rubbed (see attached).

CDONA

Home of Vortex tuning
Up @ 3:am, for a whiz, step on the flush pedal and got a plastic snap, no flush.

Thinking about this instead of sleeping, make plans to buy, two stores in Q will have it.
Two bolts and a waterline, careful to set the gasket, & done

All that money and trauma, and yet I hide this thing in the bathroom, it should have a spot in the living room all shiny & new, show the neighbors

The 336 is alluring as well. Will be interesting to see how good the Ruger Marlins will be.

The checkering looks great but at the same time out of place on that rifle.

I'm still working on a new motorcycle, but I may well still get one of these.

Yeah, if I had it to do over again I would probably skip the checkering. The walnut was such high quality (according to the guy who hand rubbed it) that his work brought out the excellent grain. The checkering was pretty darned expensive also.

The composite stock that is an option on this rifle was checkered so my though was to mimic it. Not sure it was the right choice.

But that is far secondary to the rifle itself. I'm not sure where you are located but you are welcome to come up here and shoot it at our private range. I'll have to pry it away from you before you leave though...

(oops, I see that you are in Orange County, quite the distance).
