Plumbing: Why does my shower drip?

My place has a boring Price Pfister 3 handls shower faucet.

Seems like about once a year the hot washer wears out and needs to be replaced.

But why? It seems to get shredded over time. The seat feels OK when I run my finger against it, but I don't have a seat tool to replace it. Is that the likely cause?

or simply your shower head is clogged up and didn't drain out the excess water.

Just unscrew the shower head, let the whatever water is stuck in there pour out, put the shower head back on and enjoy.

Repeat again after a ffew months
