I headed out to Indian Valley Resevoir on Sunday for a good ride after the rain we had the night before. Turned out to be an awesome day! The weather was perfect for riding and the dirt was great...good traction...no dust:thumbup.
I earned some karma points too. Met a guy and his son who had never been out there before so I took the time to give them some pointers. Told them what areas would be safe to explore...and what to avoid (there's some treacherous stuff out there if you get on the wrong trail). As I headed off for my own adventure I came upon a search and rescue team in two 4x4's looking for a stranded SUV in the area. They weren't having any luck finding it, I know the area pretty well and had an idea where they might be so I told them I'd check it out on my bike ...sure enough they were right where I thought they would be! It's a trail that branches off a main trail and looks pretty nice until you drop in to it...then it gets narrow and steep with nowhere to turn around. It goes about 200 yards and just stops on the side of a steep mountain. I jammed back to the rescue guys and led them to the SUV ...Hopefully they were able to wench it out of there...I didn't stick around cause I had more riding to do!
