Perma Ban Sought

I just wanted to log in one last time to let everyone know
that BARF is being censored by Budman who personally,
without mod vote suspended me from the "private" sub-forum for
speaking my views on George HW Bush.

He said he didn't like my "attitude" - and would have "escorted" me out
of his "living room" for what amounted to disrespect in his eyes.

I don't have anything personal against anyone here. Hell I've only ever met
a small handful of you over the 12 years I've been on this forum. I realize
my views are a bit caustic to some, and maybe my delivery isn't the smoothest,
but the one thing that separates this place from others is the fact that it is
operational because of all of us, not just one of us.

Anyway. I'm a bit pissed about it and I just think I don't want to be in a place
where one person runs the show and is becoming less tolerable.

The thread title is misleading. You weren't permabanned or banned. You were suspended from that forum for posting something that was totally out of line, but in line with your previous posts. Maybe learn something from it rather than turning it into a whine fest.

The political forum is moderated by bud alone. He’s established it for our benefit because the political forum was far too combative before it was private. He’s taken the weight off the mod squad and placed it squarely on his own shoulders. We have to appreciate that. Most forums just ban all political threads entirely. Bud is putting in the effort to keep it there for people like you and me.

What you said in the GHWB threads was entirely accurate, but as you said yourself, the delivery was caustic. I don’t agree with your suspension, but OTOH you knew you were poking the hornet’s nest. Bud and other folks made it very clear that your posts were distressing for him and others, well before your suspension.

The TOS that we behave in a respectful manner is vague and gives broad discretion for questionable and valid suspensions. It’s fair to expect that that broad discretion will be exercised from time to time. This time it was you, and I don’t think you should be surprised about it.

Hope it doesn’t keep you away from BARF because your contribution is appreciated by many including me. FWIW.

I believe every moderator will agree barf is running much more smoothly since the change to Politics. That was the goal.

When Budman sent me the pm about catching a break from the political forum for a week, the header of the message was 'PF Suspension' and I was like "Ooh, Budman found a new suspension company for my RZ or my Harley??!?" and then I was like "Ooooooohhhhh, that pf suspension."

It is fascinating. It is mostly really, really good. There is an occasional pissing match, but hey, you can just look away.

The PF is mostly really intelligent civilized discourse.
