Paint vs vinyl wrap

I’m buying a 2006 Yamaha r1 50th anniversary edition and I do like the paint on it but I also want to change it. I want to paint it but if I kind of don’t want to as it’s the 50th anniversary paint job.
Any advice?

That sounds like a good way to go so you can make it the way it was before. Vinyl wrap is tricky to do tough. Also you can plastidip it, problem is it'll rub off if you touch it, but you can take it off if you want to go back.

the bike on my avatar was wrapped, done by me when I didn't knew much.
find a reputable shop and try the wrap.
there's so much they can do with wrap, you will like it :)
here is what it looks like when is done by a pro

Dude that's the best edition, and best paint scheme for those bikes.

If you don't want the 50th edition paint scheme, buy a normal R1...

Save the original bodywork, get some used plastics from that generation and do whatever you with those.

This is exactly how I feel.

If you want to change it, buy a second set of bodywork and go nuts with it, but save the limited edition 50th anniversary stuff for later when you're ready to sell the bike. The unmolested bodywork will be worth way more than whatever you do to it.

Really, buy a normal R1. You don't deserve the 50th anniversary edition. :laughing
