Paint overspray on bike

So, my neighbors hired someone to paint there fence who the proceeded to spray the fence while my moto was 3 feet away just over the fence.

Upshot is that my blue bike now has little brown speckles everywhere. Not lots of paint but it is on everything. Insurance will cover if needed so I am looking for a shop in the east bay or Marin that can give me a quote on what it will take to get things back to normal. Not sure if it is possible to remove the paint or if re-paint will be needed, want to see what a pro says.

The guy who was painting said he can get the paint off but no way am I letting him near my bike with solvents. Want to get a price to give him and see if he will pay me direct before I go through my insurance.

Thanks

Shouldn't the painter's insurance be footing the bill. Seems like his negligence caused damage to your MC. If it was plainly visible to the painter, its his responsibility to ensure his work doesn't cause damage. He should have asked you to move the MC or at least draped behind his spray lines.

I used to work of a Fireplace contractor and we ran into this all the time when tearing down chimneys. We had to pay out for detailing a car because the dust from out work sooted the interior of a neighbors car while is windows where down.

what type of paint was he using? If latex, it can be easily buffed off if your clear coat is still good

hit up GoFast :thumbup

Thanks, I will send GoFast a PM with some pictures.

He/his insurance (if he has it) should cover it, but I checked with my insurance as well just in case he decided to be difficult.
