Oregon, looking for CA transplants that ride dirt

Hey, Wife and I are putting a lot of thought into relocating, and Portland is checking a lot of boxes. Anyone around that is willing to share their experiences and have some conversations about the green North?

We are taking the kid and spending Mother's day weekend scouting out the Portland area. Later this year, we are planning a road trip with the trailer. I would love to hear about key spots, and ask some questions about different areas.
