Opening a New Hi-Performance Motorcycle Enthusiast Dream shop in the Bay Area...

Hi everyone-

I have been an a member of BARF for about 6.5 years, give or take(exclude my username details since I've used a few). But I am passionate as most of you are and I am about to take my dedication to the next level..

I have decided to open my own Specialized Motorcycle Parts, Accessories, and apparel shop here in the East Bay area. This will solely be established for the rider to rider need to quick, fast, most desirable aftermarket upgrades, hard to get OEM parts and Repairs, along with unheard of overseas parts, apparel and equipment that most of you will never see here in the states.

I have established a few contacts within the past year or two that will help change the way us Americans in the states look at and think about purchasing out motorcycle equipment. With a soon to be, and hoping to be a plethora, of Japanese and European Sportbike(street, touring, and racing) equipment, I will be willing to take a stab at a huge risk and overhead to begin importing some of the most sought out for parts you are looking for.

What I need from you members is simple:

-Just spend a minute of your time to think about what you'd like to see readily available
-Tell me what you've been wanting, but can't get for the deals you desire
-Let me know what missing from your local parts stores
-Think outside of the box, alot more is possible than you might think with these overseas contacts.

In hopes to change our standards and make a difference- Chrisxiv

Interesting. If you want to use BARF to promote the business, contact Budman about sponsorship. Thank You.

Awesome! Looking forward to it. Especially since I'm in the east bay.

Sometime I just want to swing by a store and blow money on something cool, but I rarely find anything at East Bay MS or Cycle Gear. All of the cool accessories are usually found on the interent.....things like Speedo Healers, LED lighting, etc.... No one stocks that stuff, and for me, it's usually an impulse buy. Some focus on the guys that do track days would be a plus. These guys typically are after performance parts, not OEM like the guys at EBMS want to sell you.

Why do some people list motorcycles they no longer own in their profiles?

It suggests that they're the only motorcycles they've ever owned.

I would be happy if you sold Ducati oil filters. I bought one or two of them from Cycle Gear a few years ago, but was told that it was a mistake that they had them in the first place and they don't carry them anymore.

It would be nice if you had a selection of Dzus fasteners and maybe a good selection of high quality bolts of various sizes (something better than what I can get at Orchard Supply Hardware).

So where, exactly, in the East Bay would you be located? Just knowing that it will be somewhere between Milpitas and Antioch doesn't help much more than knowing that it will be a Bay Area shop.

Like others, I wonder where your location will be? I'd like to see useable performance stuff, not just dice-shaped valve stem caps, fruity pink windscreens and other bling. Some stuff that a track rider or serious riding enthusiast would use. And how bout some cool unobtanium from other shores (thus making it obtanium now)? Oh, and a BARF discount. :thumbup

sprockets dude... literally everyone I know has changed their gearing, and everyone of us had to get our sprockets online, or the shop that did the labor had to order them.

You should stock all the stock exhausts that everyone removes from their bikes. Sell them back to them after their fixit tickets at a 500% mark-up over the $20 you pay for them.

Triumph Powah!!
sprockets dude

I would be happy if you sold Ducati oil filters.

Yeah Filters and sprockets are the main thing for me. I want an oem Triumph air filter which is a bitch and a half to get. And either oem or a good quality chain and sproket kit for my TT600.

I wish there was more aftermarket support for my Triumph, it was pretty easy to find an RK chain for my R6 but it was a pain to get a hold of a 520 RK kit for my TT600 without having to have it shipped from England.

^^^^^What he said. Cool stuff from Japan and Europe that is rarely seen over here. Oh, and none of those sad excuses that pass for American MC magazines, i.e. "Motorcyclist" and "Sport Rider". :thumbup Carry the nice Euro rags with the nice centerfolds. :boobies

I want to see the overseas stuff that I don't even know about.

Great to see some quick replies guys.. this is obviously going to take a little time, but It's good to see that there's interest. As much as I'd like to jump right into this, I'm going to have to do a ton of research and make a bunch of well thought out decisions so I can remain financially stable throughout the process. I'm going in this for the long run, so all of your support would be greatly appreciated and condemned with the best customer service I can provide.

for those of you that were bothered by my initial post, I've been a member or BARF for just about as long as it's been around.. I can't be exact on the dates, but it's been years. I've certainly been riding for longer. I apologize if you might have been offended if you feel like you've been a member longer, but it wasn't the intention of my post.
