In my eyes (not necessarily correct), I saw them make contact (side) which caused the outside bike to lean in more. Then the rider realized that he could not turn away and they were "locked" together. So, the guy bailed by grabbing on to the rear of the other bike and let his go. I do not think the guy on the outside purposely jumped off his bike (except to save his butt).
Huh. Yes, I think you may be right. OK, so no Forrest Gump bail out.
So the guy on the right gets a bit ahead and starts moving left to set up for the upcoming turn, but he does so too early, gets tangled up with the bike on the left. Rider on the left realizes he's f***ed if he stays on his bike, so decides to bail out onto the other guys bike to save himself. (I don't think I would've thought to even do that).
So then, he successfully - miraculously - pulls that off, and the right hand rider keeps it upright and on the track as he brakes pretty hard and moves to far right to stay out of the way and stop without dumping. And he does it!
Now. What would your reaction be if you were the rider that had to bail out?
a) grateful to be alive
b) mad at the other guy for cutting me off, but grateful to be alive
c) mad at the other guy and ready to belt him one right now.
hmmm....let me think about that....:confused
(I'm guessing this was not random and hairball moves were traded previously between these two). Still crazy to watch.
