yes - rider's Steve Wise, IIRC

Mike's still working on bikes, up in PacNW

His pipes for 750/900F's were works of art...

I worked at a Honda dealer in 82/83 and and we put together a 900F for a customer with a Euro bar/peg set up, a Velasco pipe, jetted carbs with K&N filter, S&W shocks, and some other long forgotten must have's of the era and I swear I never thought a bike could get any faster, or cooler! :laughing

very cool - thx a ton for posting that shot

with Mamola being a too-young-for-AMA prospect, Jim Doyle & Randy needed the AFM to launch his career

similar age/licensing issues amongst AFM/AMA Pro/CCS/etc. remain to this day

anyway, at last month's ASBN mtg, Jim presented barf's Anthony Alonzo to us -
it was mebbe 39 years ago when Jim introduced Mamola in a very similar way to our AFM monthly meeting!

Moab on my mind
To hell with your Spanish midgets on computerized liter bikes, this is how grand prix motorcycle racing should be.

I am not weird, you are.
My buddy has Seca pics from '89+, I was in the Army '87-89 so '90 was my 1st USGP. We haven't missed one since (including the WSB years)

So I've been helping my father go through some boxes of photos in the garage he hasn't been through in years/decades.

In the 60's he had a small 35mm camera he'd carry with him everywhere, he'd load it with B&W film, but because he never had a darkroom he'd go into a hallway closet, tell us kids to lean up against the door to keep it from popping open while he was developing the negatives, and then he'd print them late at night in a makeshift lab he'd set up. It was always kinda like watching a mad scientist at work.

As we're going through the pics, we find this one... he snapped a pic of Steve McQueen at Laguna Seca early one morning, he's not sure the year, but the file box 1965.

Good pic, Dad!
