Officer down NB 101 Novato

I frequently see this guy and another officer on my evening commute through Novato/Petaluma and came across the accident on my commute home tonight. The bike was in the guardrail. This is just before the Novato narrows where there tends to be a lot of lane changes. I hope the officer is alright the artical says he sustained moderate injuries.

Officer Down...

I encountered this accident yesterday and wondered...is this the LEO is see on my way home lane splitting at high speed? Apparently it was. I hope he's alright, but where the freeways goes from four lanes to two is probably not the place for aggressive lane splitting.

I was passed by two tonight in Northern Marin on 101 at code three lane splitting speed but no lights. They passed me on my right between lanes 2&3 crossed in front and slid into the 1&2 space, like they were on a rail. Looks fun, but high risk.

Hmm Moderate damage both for the motorcycle and vehicle (sounds like a car). Officer was with moderate injuries. No injuries in the other vehicle.
