Oakland Moto Friendly Parking?

I just recently started working at Lake Merrit in one of the Kaiser buildings off of the 19th street BART station. The Kaiser building garages say "NO MOTORCYCLES", anyone know of a garage that does allow motorcycles. There doesn't appear to be any on street designated motorcycle spots like SF, I see people parking between cars, not something I want to do. I have found a lot that will allow parking for $7 a day with a discount for monthly parking, but its out in the elements.

I'm really surprised that there is no motorcycle parking on the street.

Don't park between. Take the middle of the place and pay for it. It's legal and what you should do.

I think there are half a dozen actual Moto spots there at 21st and Kaiser Plaza. They are exposed though.

Oakland needs a few Moto spots, in garages and on street.

I've walked by there and haven't seen any, I'll check again. The lot there has quite a few bikes parked in it.

That's a bummer. FWIW you may want to check inside the Kaiser garages themselves. There's one in SF that also says no motorcycles but there's definitely an area for motorcycles in the garage and lots of motos part there.

I heard a rumor that the control mechanisms (ticket and gate) of most garages do not reliably detect motorcycles, so they do not allow motorcycles. I guess it would be more expensive to tune the sensors.

I asked they guys working in one and they said no as of right now, but they've heard that its in the plans. I'll try and hit up the other garages close by and see if I have any luck.
