Not One Bike

Kinda sad that I've been going through countless manufactures websites and I haven't seen one bike in their lineup that I say "Hot diggity dog, I want that."

I'm in the market for a bike, but I just haven't seen anything that catches my eye lately. Ducati usually has something, but nope. KTM has their SuperDuke 1290, but I can't afford that. Hell, I even looked at the new Harley Roadster but the reviews are "meh" for the price. Plus I did test ride one and I didn't hop off the bike excited at all.

Yamaha and Honda don't have much in the way of design that I like.

I want something to enjoy Santa Barbara on! But that I also won't mind cruising down the coast to LA and dealing with traffic occasionally. I want good looks and some comfort, which seems like they never go hand-in-hand.

Previous Bikes:

  • 2011 Ducati StreetFighter

Why is it so hard to find a bike I drool over like I used to? I'm becoming a picky bastard.

You should buy what I ride! Isn't that the appropriate answer to this thread?

Good luck finding a ride that speaks to you, I'm sure something will come up.

You're too picky :x

As you get older the thrills wear off. I'll bet when you were 17 you drooled over a lot of things (and not just bikes) that you would scoff at today.

Make it about the ride and not the bike. Or shell out the $$ for the KTM.

New only?

The previous generations of super duke seem to be sitting unsold on the used market (overpriced perhaps) and I see a few first generation multistrada 1000s (ohlins!1) languishing as well. Either would be excellent at LA traffic and posing down state street trolling for drunk SBCC coeds? You could probably enjoy them on hwy33 as well (curse you for living so close to it!)

Are we having fun yet?
This is like saying, "I no longer find the opposite sex attractive." Glad I don't have that problem. :laughing

So you're waiting for a bike that hasn't been designed and released to market yet?
Have you looked at the 2016 Hodaka lineup?

This. That bike is sweet. I posted somewhere before that it would probably be my next "new" bike. But I'm pretty good right now. :)

You sound like my exes.

"What do you want for dinner?"

" I don't know, I'm up for anything, you choose."

"Ok, how about Italian". "No, anything but Italian". :twofinger

First off, a new to you, bike is just a starting point..

You make it into what works for you. Some of that is adjustments (setup).

Some of that is buying custom components. :thumbup

Just checked out the XSR-900 and I actually think it might be the one. I really like it, but you're right about the tailight. I think someone will come up with an aftermarket soon enough. Sound wise it is just an FZ-09, so that could use an aftermarket pipe.. but quiet isn't always bad.

Sat on the new FZ-10. Looks so fucking weird but it's oddly starting to grow on me. 167HP? Damn.

Today's market offering for bikes is basically as good as it has ever been in the US AFAIC.

Consider this:

I will say, plenty of offerings just nothing catches my eye.
