Yo what kind of pasta machine do you use?

----

My dad told me he's sending me a present, he's sending me some Omaha mail order steaks lol. What a great guy!

Atlas hand crank. I like to work for my food, which is why I spent all weekend searching for mushrooms.

Those look amazing. I don't know enough about which ones are good and which are bad.

I would be afraid to harvest my own.

I think people throw the meat grinder attachments in the freezer to keep the meat hard but I've never seen or heard of anyone using the pasta roller.

I can't decide if I should get a proper hand roller like Brokenlink or super cheat and get the Philips pasta maker...the videos make it so easy, literally toss in flour, water salt and it does the rest perfectly.

I don't want the kitchenaid pasta attachment. I do want the kitchenaid meat grinder/sausager stuffer.

Dad has a hand-crank Atlas.
When he makes the dough he puts it into the fridge for about 30 min to rest and cool. I think he does this to reduce the amount of flour required to keep it from sticking while rolling it out.

SO my mom gave me a cheap version of that thing. Granted it is not at all the same. But it is an automatic pasta maker. I used it once and made a bunch of sticky, horrible dough that immediately gummed everything up and stuck together. I then spent hourse trying to clean the fucking thing before I gave it back to her with a big fat "thanks but no thanks".

I am sure the philips one is better, but I still wonder about the clean/use ratio. My atlas is great in that you make the dough either by hand or in a mixer, then run it through. No mess at all. I use a soft brush to clean it. And you have much more control over the texture of the dough.

The rest is for the gluten to form and the dough to set.

Never this 120min before. states "Enjoy now or age for a decade or so", but I couldn't wait. It's great! I thought it was going to taste like Bigfoot ale, which I didn't have fond memories of, but surprisingly easy to drink for the abv. Also making some stock from the leftover honeybaked ham from thanksgiving.
