NO CLOUD Accounting Programs for MAC

Can anyone recommend a desktop version, not cloud hosted accounting program for very small business?
I am done done done with Quickbooks.
Very simple needs, invoicing, receiving, no inventory.
I do not ever want to use a cloud based accounting program ever again.

I always try to point out the “cloud” misnomer.
Cloud? It is remote data storage. Your data, stored somewhere else by someone else.

I have issues with that. Do you guys?

I have tremendous issues with that. I want to access my accounting software without relying on its safe storage on someone else's privately owned server.

You might look at LedgerSMB. It's a web application but the web server is all yours and can be on the same computer as the client. And it's Free Software.

I have an old copy ofQuickbooks but I like running my current Mac. I think I may just wind up downloading check writing program and design an excel based thing. My business is small and I can manually do my books.

I'm having the same issue. I searched for options but none looked like the right solution for my business.

Always hated Quickbooks and the latest version and price increase pushed me over the edge. My accounting needs are very simple by design. I don't need to pay their high prices for an overly complex system. Quickbooks does have a desktop version for Mac but its expensive (IMO) and they will probably quit supporting it soon to force customers onto their cloud platform which is exactly what they did a few years ago.

I have a paper ledger (really!) that I use as a kind of back up anyway so I'm just going to stick with that. The paper ledger boots up instantly, works flawlessly offline and is compatible with any operating system - all with no subscription fees! :laughing

Steve, I have kept flawless books on a spiral notebook since I was 19 years old. I still do, it’s just the invoicing and check writing that foul me up.
I think I’ll keep on keeping on and redesign my invoicing through Excel.
I am disgusted with Quickbooks and refuse to cave to their extortion tactics.
