Anybody here own one? I'm looking at a 2012, 4 cyclinder with 10k miles, manual transmission 5speed, 2.5 litre in excellent condition, roll up windows not power so is a kind of lower end model for this line of pickups but is in excellent condition with a bed liner also, standard cab opens from inside on both doors, very nice truck, from a dealer here in Dublin. Any owners with experience/advice? tia:thumbup

I have a 2008 Frontier XE that is just like you described (2.5 4-cyl., roll-up windows, King Cab, 2WD, 5psd.). I don't drive much so I only have 34K on it but I've been very happy. My dogs ride in it a lot and the interior holds up. Only problem I ever had was a loose fan shroud which was covered under warranty. Only rattles I've had is a little buzz from the dash for a few miles after driving on very washboard dirt roads. Quiets down quickly.

I get 21-24mpg driving however I want. I bought the 16" wheels and tires off someone with an SE model. Rides really nice and the cab is very quiet and comfortable at freeway speeds. Bed holds my YZF600 or KTM450 but I have to angle the bike to close to tail gate. Bought a bed extender and can easily load my KTM450, CRF230, ramp, stands, EZ-UP, two chairs, portable generator, extra tires, etc. for supermoto race weekends. Area behind the seats swallows my tools, an overnight bag and large gear bag.

First off it's a mid size, and a bit heavier than a Tacoma I'm not sure I'd go with a 4 cyl.
We've expierienced some small electrical issues, (fuel sending unit, PW switch, relay for brain) the suppliers were the same for Chevys and those owners experienced similar problems.

Very nice full frame, smooth driver. I don't believe it gets stellar gas milage either way, might as well go V6.

Thanks for the info guys. Fawndog i'm looking at this model because it is a good deal economically and i think will suit my needs. A test drive will tell. Until recently i had a Ford Ranger for many years with a 3.0L V6 and put my motocycle in back several times but had the truck since '99......i don't anticipate having to do this too often.

I had a 2012 V6/6spd stick shift.

Only things I'm aware of from the second generation is that the Auto transmissons had some possible radiator cross contamination issues but you are looking at a manual so no problem there.

Check the paint, expecially around the tracks on the roof. Some owners experienced thin paint issues, especially on a certain lighter blue color.

Other than that pretty solid trucks with a box frame (unlike tacos). The 4cyl 5spd should last pretty much forever.

Cool! Thanks all i'd post a photo but smashed the back of my iphone. I drove it home today, no regrets it's a good fit and matches my black FZ1 and my black Fuji lol!

A Japanese vehicle sharing parts with American vehicles? I had that misfortune with an Isuzu. :mad

Dan, ask the dealership if you can take it home for the night. The dealership can do that. We have a 2001 in FL that I bought with 96K miles. It now has 170K and hasn't had one problem aside from normal service and a tree falling on it in a hurricane. It's the 4cyl and in FL gets about 26mpg on freeway. I love that truck!

How much are they asking?
