So I need a new lid. Been doing a lot of research and think I have it nailed down. Just ordered a Nexx XD1 from Revzilla. Lots of great features. Just hope it will fit comfortably.

Anyone have experience with Nexx helmets?

I know Touratech's new super badass Aventuro carbon fiber adventure helmet is made by Nexx.

I have the X1R1 or whatever the sport model is. The helmet fits my head shape really well -better than Arab or other high end helmet. The other helmet that fits better is Suomi and my custom Bell.

Vision wise is really awesome. The eye port is huge.

Vents and pads are on par with most other helmets. Although Arab pads are the most plush.

Quality wise it could be better. I had to send back my helmet to fix a chin vent opening that came lose.

Overall it's not a bad value. My Next is my everyday commuter helmet.

I had one last year as my race lid. They are really light, comfortable, and the head shape isn't crazy (like some of the high end Arai)

Also very interested to hear about this. They have huge eye ports and are some of the lightest weight helmets, but I have heard spotty stuff about overall fit and finish.

From what I remember trying them on, they're really great helmets, but are not good for a narrow/oval head.

You're either wasted, or borrowing Kevin714's phone.

+1 on everything that hasn't been autocorrected...

I have had the XR1R Carbon for about 3 years now and love it more and more everyday. The field of vision is great, it's light and comfortable and it works better with my sena unit than my buddy's shoei that was designed for it. I recently read that nexx has the beefiest chin strap pad, which definitely adds to the comfort level.

My only complaint would be the aerodynamics just because it seems to catch more wind than other helmets I have worn but it isn't too bad. The finish also isn't painted and has always bubbled in one small spot when left in the sun, I'll hate to see what happens to it when that finally punctures...

Overall, two thumbs up from this nexx head

Thanks for the input guys. Reaffirms my decision on this helmet. I have an old Arai, but when I went to try some new ones none of them fit my head anymore. The one helmet I found that fit me the best was a Shoei X2.

I went with the Nexx cause it has way more features than the X2. No need to carry a smoked screen it is all set up for the X-Com Bluetooth communication system, set up for camera mounts, you can take the visor off if you want I mean it's crazy the amount of features this thing has for the money. I just hope it fits my head lol.

Was autocorrect on? Arab or was this humor?

With all those surface contours, vents and indentations how quiet is the Nexx?

Been mostly happy with mine, the Carbon from a few years back.

Gripes?

Visor only has 1 in between notch, it's closed/cracked open, open to the level of my eyes, or all the way. Not much in between.

Not real impressed with my chin vent.

Weight and vision are fantastic, which I guess are the more important features.

To be honest, I don't have much to compare it to. The wind noise seems sharper due to the carbon fiber than on my old shoei rf1100. I wouldn't say it is immensely louder, but the noise made by the wind is more piercing to my ears at 60+, if that makes sense?

That being said, I don't regularly wear earplugs so my hearing is either f'ed or the helmet is quiet enough.

they narrowed the helmet for the xr2-i thought the xr1r was a great fitting helmet, kind of fit the same as an arai corsair with a much bigger eyeport and much lighter.i got a xr2 carbon the same size as my xr1 and it was too narrow.i have a medium xt1 carbon for sale-worn twice-super noisy, but fits like the xr1.has the sunvisor and the different strap buckle.
