Newbie Ride: Napa, Sunday 6/14

I was amazed at the turnout today! Six newbies and a lot more experienced riders, all having a great time.

The traffic to Berryessa was insane - I have never seen that much traffic on that road - but the rest of the route worked out nicely. The newbies did really well today and it was nice to meet those folks, along with Ich, McGrude, RVFRick, Sara and others.

What a ride...

Now THAT was fun. 192 miles round trip from home in the East Bay up to Middletown. Great people, sensible yet fast riding and a beautiful day

First BARF group ride for me. Looking forward to the next one.

Great ride! I was in a small 4 gang group in between the intermediate and the newbie ride. I've been to Lake Berryessa and done some loops of it in the past, but this a first time ride through St. Helena, Petrified Forest, the 29 to Middletown (<3 <3 <3), and Butt Canyon / Aetna.

Those were really great! Thanks for organizing this!

After we finished the loop of Lake Berryessa, we detoured back to San Francisco via Hwy 101 and Golden Gate Bridge and we missed the Bay Bridge protest

Best ride ever!

Looked like everyone who lives in Northern California went to Lake County on Sunday. Near Lake Berryessa, parked cars encircled the lake for miles.

Still, FoolishMortal mostly managed to find the best roads with almost no traffic.

As others have noted, was an awesome ride with fun peeps. Brandon's newb tolerance was outstanding! Quote of the day for me was "Dave, you ride like a flattracker!!". The comment was spot on and also very helpful in the context of his coaching. Hope to do more "newb friendly" rides with other Barf'ers!! Thanks to all.
