Hello all. Totally new to all this, so please excuse any stupid faux pas...

Looking for a seat upgrade for a Honda NT 650 Hawk GT. I'm 6'1" and my long legs are super cramped. The stock seat slides me right down into the tank... Hoping to find some type of tall seat mod. ?? Checked out Corbin, but I can't afford $500+... Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - Jon 🤙.

Welcome!
How much is you ass worth?
Kidding.
If you could get your hands on a spare seat you could add foam and figure out what works for you.

Corbin is local too. i understand they have the “Wizard Cafe” which is decent. You could take a ride down there and search out free advice.

Then again, there is prolly better free advice here. Upholstery work is not that hard.

SF to Hollister could be a nice ride, Skyline to summit or something...

Enjoy!

Add some seat foam for sure then cover it with a larger cover.

I am 6'1 also, big reason why I rode the supermoto now. Tall and young enough to still want to ride fun bikes lol

congrats on the NT650, great bikes. It's actually not so much height of the seat but rather the angle of the stock seat. It makes you kinda slide forward and unable to scoot back comfortably. The Corbin seat is flatter so you can sit farther back, but if that's not in the budget an Airhawk can add a little to the seat height

Also if you haven't already, check with these guys, still lots of Hawk love out there

I have had many hawks over the years, great bikes, usually for.my girlfriends and now my wife, because they are great bikes for smaller stature people.

There is just no getting away from the fact they are a small, low bike with an abnormally short seat to peg distance, and low standover height, especially with the stock rear shock.

Yes the seat angle makes it worse, but you'd have to add 2' to 4" of foam to make it "comfortable" for a 34" inseam in my opinion.

I have had the standard corbin, not much better for height.
You need a seat upholsterer to add foam and recover the stock seat, or a spare with a shredded cover you pick up cheap.

Good luck

There’s a guy in SF who can modify your seat to your liking; add and/or reshape the foam and recover it with your choice of material.

His number is (415) 531-2917. Name is Tony. Had a YELP page but I couldn’t find it just now.

He did my seat (while I waited!) two years ago and it looks like stock. But no more balls into the gas tank.

Thanks for all the tips! ...I'm pretty sure I would butcher any DIY seat project I attempt - I'd rather just pay someone who has the skills😛...
