New Zero Motorcycle Coming: Zero SR/F

Not sure if this has been posted but just went to Zero's website and it looks like they are dropping something "big" 2/25/2019.

Backed by thirteen years of innovation and iteration, setbacks and what-ifs, our next evolution will be the first of its kind. Effortless power. Precise instinct. This is the future of motorcycling.

When you click on Get Notified it says Zero SR/F.

Any thoughts on what they might be cooking up? Long range? Level 3 charging?

I feel like I've seen some "prototype" zeros riding around. Weird black plastic covering it, disguising it. But the overall shape, design, size, was the same as the current SR. Curious how the specs have changed.

Possibly a "fairing" version?

Or a cruiser version to compete with the upcoming Livewire from HD?

I don't think it's a fairing version, especially based on the pic.

It says it's "all new", so expect a new platform entirely.

2 months out is a long time though..

HD let the cat out of the bag for the Live Wire yesterday. $30,000 for performance on par with 2016 14kw Zero.

I don't think Zero will "compete" with the Motor Company, as Zero is kinda the bench mark at the moment.

I work near Zero and have seen more than a few Grom-like bikes being ridden around the neighborhood for a few months. I’ve also seen a couple of MP3 scooter electric 3-wheelers too.

Traction control and a belly pan charger (also paraphrasing from sales rep post I can't find). The traction control is enough for me to get the new bike, the current Zero SR just lowsides instantly in sport mode. A new motor and battery with 120 front and 160 rear would be spiffy.

So, does it come with a clothespin and some sticks to put in the spokes so it will sound right?

Actually the sound is what they got right, IMHO. Being obsessed with signature sounds they built the power train with straight cut gears, intentionally to produce gear whine. (according to the literature the handed out when they were doing the "exploratory" marketing tests a few years ago)

You can find flyby videos on Youtube. It sounds very scifi, turbine-ish, and is unique among the other E-Motos.

I thought all motorcycles used straight cut gears. I watched the videos and it sounds like zero with loud gearbox.

Gotta learn to control that throttle =P

My Empulse has more power than a S and less than a SR never had an lowsiding problems.

Really? How so? Never had a problem with my Zero low siding.

Videos of test ride crashes and reports saying that it's much harder to catch the rear than an ICE engine. Rather than a proper traction control system, Zero's controller decides how much power to give you based on formulas in which they plug in speed and throttle input -- which is also why it doesn't wheelie. I want it to cut power when it detects wheelspin, for true grit rides yo.
