los angeles santa monica mountain born and raised.. just finished 6 years down.. started back up in san fran .. I am an A rider/ expert dirt.. I will buy anything orange and KTM.. Play around with elec engineering .. can bus, soldering, projects. Can't find any good riding for my new 1190r adv. Miss the mountains blocks from my old house off the 101 freeway in the santa monica mountains. love jumping hills in the city. don't have a garage, but still keep buying bikes. Selling a 2007 superduke and a 2014 1190 adv r, i want to try the 1290 superduke. Looking for friends who can scrub tires and ride hard on the weekends in local mountains.. Looking for roads to ride in local mountains,

i should have said.. i'm on a 50 mile parole leash.. so.. thats why i complain about not having anywhere to ride
 
Welcome Kevin, you can take 35 down to around 9 and all those roads in between should be enjoyable within your radius. Enjoy the forum

Hit the ADV section for more of the like minded people.

We have a rally coming in September that affords the chance to do some of that and meet a bunch of great people.

That is in the Group ride section.

There are quite a few really good roads that are not track worthy but 35 is just the main way to break off. There are a lot of roads that go both east and west off of 35, I am still getting used to all of them and getting lost so I really can't tell you names but I never regret getting lost off of 35. Not all of them are perfectly paved but still fun within the radius. If you go during the weekend it sucks, when I ride there is rarely another car let alone another bike.
